SleepTrack Audio

Galaxy Watch setup

Use your Galaxy Watch to find where the story left you.

SleepTrack Audio can compare supported Android media playback with sleep data written by Samsung Health to Health Connect. In the morning, you get a visual timeline and a suggested place to resume.

What you need

  • An Android phone running Android 9 or later with Google Play services
  • A Galaxy Watch that records sleep in Samsung Health
  • Samsung Health configured to share usable sleep data with Health Connect
  • SleepTrack Audio with notification access and Health Connect sleep permission

Health Connect is built into Android 14 and later. On Android 13 and earlier, it is provided through the separate Health Connect app. Google documents the current access paths in its Health Connect setup guide.

1. Confirm that the watch recorded sleep

After waking, open Samsung Health and confirm that last night's sleep session is present. If Samsung Health has no session, SleepTrack has nothing to match against.

2. Check the Health Connect connection

Open Health Connect from Android Settings. Under app permissions, confirm that Samsung Health can write sleep data and SleepTrack Audio can read it. Android lets you revoke this access at any time.

Android 14 and later: search Settings for "Health Connect" if the path differs on your phone. Manufacturers sometimes rename or move the privacy menus.

3. Allow media monitoring

SleepTrack uses Android notification access to observe playback metadata and position from supported media apps. It does not record the audio. Follow the in-app permission explanation, enable SleepTrack, and return to the app.

4. Listen normally

Start Audible, Audiobookshelf, Spotify, YouTube, or another supported app. You do not need to play the book inside SleepTrack. The app keeps a local playback timeline while Android exposes an active media session.

5. Review the Sleep Mark after syncing

Give the watch and Samsung Health time to finish their morning sync. Then open Sleep Marks. A completed result can show total audio time, minutes until sleep, audio after sleep onset, and any sleep stages supplied through Health Connect.

Start a little before the recommendation. Wearables estimate sleep after it happens, and different devices can report stages at different resolution.

If no Sleep Mark appears

  1. Confirm the sleep session exists in Samsung Health.
  2. Confirm Samsung Health is an active sleep data source in Health Connect.
  3. Confirm SleepTrack still has sleep permission and notification access.
  4. Open SleepTrack after the morning sync has completed.
  5. Check whether the audio app exposed a media notification while playing.

If the problem continues, include the phone model, Android version, watch model, and audio app in a message to [email protected]. Do not send private listening or health data.
